Role of Advisory Council Members

 Induction Advisory Council

Roles & Responsibilities

The Advisory Council is comprised of representatives from each of the participating districts in the consortium.  Representatives will include each district's Induction Coordinator, a policy level administrator, a site administrator, and a support provider.

The council's roles and responsibilities include:

  1. Attend all scheduled Advisory Council Meetings (three per school year).
  2. Gain a working knowledge of the Standards of Quality and Effectiveness for Professional Teacher Induction Programs.
  3. Be able to clearly communicate the program's rationale, goals, and design to school district leaders and administrators, school officials, bargaining units when present, and others responsible for employing, assigning and supporting participating teachers.
  4. Collaborate with other Advisory Council members to adivse and make recommendations to the Leadership Team and Program Director on:
    1. Induction Program design, policy, and implementation,
    2. budget development, revision, and implementation,
    3. professional development for Beginning Teachers, Support Providers, and District Administrators,
    4. the comprehensive program evaluation system, its data results, analyses, and implications for program improvement
    5. coordination amoung participating districts of delivery of services for Induction participants.
  5. Participate in all Induction program Local and statewide surveys.
